My SolarMill incorporates 3 vertical axis wind turbines with P.V. (solar panels) technology within a compact footprint, creating the greatest energy density of any product on the market. Made of galvanized metal the products easily withstand the expansion and contraction of extreme temperature shifts as well as harsh UV rays. The turbines incorporate a mechanical braking system to protect them from over rotation, and the on-board electronics have temperature sensors that prevent the system from over voltage. The products are virtually silent and pose no threat to wildlife or the environment.

 

Great care and consideration has gone in to the development of the SolarMill in an effort to provide the highest quality products at an affordable price. All products come with a 5 year warranty and have an expected design life of greater than 25 years.

What is the life span of the product and what warranty comes with it?

It has a 25 Year Design Life and 5 Years Manufacturer’s Warranty.

 

Does the windmill have to use a starting motor? Are there brakes on the windmill to prevent it from being damaged during high speed winds?

It does not need a starting motor and it does have a mechanical brake at high-speed winds beyond 18.5m/s (41mph).

 

Let’s say I buy the product, do you offer installation or do I have to find someone to install it?

Installation is not included in the price of the product. We have a list of Installers available but it’s still very new to the United States. So we only have a quarter the Country covered so far or you can use your local renewable energy company or your local electrical contractor to install them, they’re actually very simple to install.

 

Where are you putting this, on the ground?

My SolorMill is actually designed to be put on a residential rooftop or commercial building. The product can be placed on the ground but shows the best results when put on a rooftop..

 

How high up for peak performance? My understanding for wind turbines is 30 ft. to get out of the “dirty” wind.

Of course the higher up the wind turbines are the more wind you’re going to get. This system can actually be set on ground level. Unlike other wind turbines, it just needs 4 miles per hour of wind to start producing power.

 

How well would the PV’s hold up to hail?

PV panels are rated for 1″ hail at 50mph.

 

Is it harmful to wildlife such as birds?

That’s one of the beauties of My SolarMill it’s actually passive it doesn’t suck things in like other windmills. My SolarMill is environmentally friendly.

Does it come with all the equipment I need to “grid tie” the unit?

Yes it’s a complete grid tie system with inverter.

 

What type of Inverter is included?

CyboInverter is a patented and award-winning solar power Mini-Inverter that possesses the key merits of both central inverters and microinverters. Each Mini-Inverter has 4 input channels that can directly connect to four 250W-320W solar panels with MC-4 connectors, and produces 1150W AC peak power to the grid. Each input channel has MPPT so that the partial shading problem is eliminated. Multiple Mini-inverters can daisy-chain with built in AC wires and Wieland connectors so that the system is truly “plug and play.” Because there is no high-voltage DC, the solar system is intrinsically safe and easy to install, making it ideal for residential and commercial roof-top installations.
